Busy week

Been a crazy week starting with Thanksgiving, then Black Friday, then sleeping and Tree Lighting, then church and more sleep because I came down with the flu on Sunday, then Grammies on Monday and then Camera Club ..at Grammy's house today!!
Going home to pass out and then tomorrow to clean and decorate! Well decorate some more!! Can't wait to get our tree this weekend!!! Some how I have lost an entire tote of Christmas decorations :( ...hopefully I can find it soon! It has all the window and wall decorations and my nativity scene! Really hope it is found soon!!
So today marks the day that  Lizzy is an official crawler!! Look out world!! She was crawling backwards and kind of creeping but she has finally figured it out!! My days of relaxing with my Child are over I think!
So  I used to be a very frugal person and somehow when I had my daughter I changed my thinking and decided that we need everything the world has to offer. Now of course I didn't go on a huge shopping spree but I still WANT all these things in commercials, news fliers, what other "good" moms are toting around! (Believe it or not, Jimmy is just as bad!)
It is hard sometimes to know the difference between needs and wants! I am grateful to be able to say that with jimmy working that we don't really need anything (sometimes we are a bit short, but we have food, shelter and clothing) now with that being said we both still have problems making sure we don't go overboard getting everything we want.
Is this a common problem?
Any advice on how to be content on what we are able to have and give?

Also how do you raise a child that is content with what they receive and more then eager to give! I try to be that way (I'm pretty sure I succeed most of the time...maybe) but is there a good way to make sure that Lizzy and her family remember the true reason for Christmas?????

  1. I think it's normal to want all the cool things for our babies! I know that I just want Reuben to be happy and sometimes it's easy to think that the newest or nicest "baby things" will do the trick. I think the way to show them that giving is just as good is to get excited about giving to others :)
