Busy week

Been a crazy week starting with Thanksgiving, then Black Friday, then sleeping and Tree Lighting, then church and more sleep because I came down with the flu on Sunday, then Grammies on Monday and then Camera Club ..at Grammy's house today!!
Going home to pass out and then tomorrow to clean and decorate! Well decorate some more!! Can't wait to get our tree this weekend!!! Some how I have lost an entire tote of Christmas decorations :( ...hopefully I can find it soon! It has all the window and wall decorations and my nativity scene! Really hope it is found soon!!
So today marks the day that  Lizzy is an official crawler!! Look out world!! She was crawling backwards and kind of creeping but she has finally figured it out!! My days of relaxing with my Child are over I think!
So  I used to be a very frugal person and somehow when I had my daughter I changed my thinking and decided that we need everything the world has to offer. Now of course I didn't go on a huge shopping spree but I still WANT all these things in commercials, news fliers, what other "good" moms are toting around! (Believe it or not, Jimmy is just as bad!)
It is hard sometimes to know the difference between needs and wants! I am grateful to be able to say that with jimmy working that we don't really need anything (sometimes we are a bit short, but we have food, shelter and clothing) now with that being said we both still have problems making sure we don't go overboard getting everything we want.
Is this a common problem?
Any advice on how to be content on what we are able to have and give?

Also how do you raise a child that is content with what they receive and more then eager to give! I try to be that way (I'm pretty sure I succeed most of the time...maybe) but is there a good way to make sure that Lizzy and her family remember the true reason for Christmas?????

7 MONTHS OLD!

Elizabeth Standing holding onto something at 7 months!

Elizabeth is now crawling...slowly...but I don't think that will last long :)

She eats all the time and had her first meat (turkey) on Thanksgiving!

She sneaks up on the cats and tries to pull their tails!

She recognizes Jimmy and calls him Dada (she calls everyone else MAMA)

Her favorite things are finger painting with her food,  jumping in her Roo, being read too, dancing, other people singing, watching Mickey Mouse on TV and playing with her Minnie Mouse stuffed animal!

She has mastered drinking water and juice from a cup!

She still enjoys rolling everywhere and pulling objects off low shelves!

She loves Christmas lights!

So far she likes Santa!

Well, That's the highlights for now!!

Happy 7 months Lizzy!!

Thanksgiving and other Holiday adventures!!

Everyone waiting for turkey and pie!!

Auntie Annette and Uncle Peter working hard to get everyone fed!!

Watching the Patriots game!

Taking a much needed nap 3 hours AFTER her nap time!!

Turkeys ready!!

Eating rice cakes, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, squash, and a bit of gravy!

After Auntie and Uncle's house, we went to Mimi and Papa's house. We had pie and talked and had so much fun with Don, Jen, Nick, Mimi and Papa!!

This is where Lizzy got her first experience with Meat...Turkey to be exact! (Well it is Thanksgiving)

It was a blend of Turkey, Sweet Potato, corn, onions, gravy, carrots, and cranberries!

This was her reaction!!!!

I guess she liked it...because she opened her mouth for more!!

AND MORE!!!
After eating Turkey and sides...she had some Delicious Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate cream pie!  Then she gave Nick a big slobber kiss! She and Nick had so much fun laughing and dancing together!!!!!!
After, Jimmy and I went home and tried to get Lizzy into bed. She was so wired so she didn't go to sleep until around 11 pm! Mom and I went to the walmart opening In Brunswick at midnight and got in, got our gifts, got coffee, and got out in under an hour!! Very nice job Walmart for your organization this year!!

After we went back to my house and packed up Lizzy and headed down to the mall area. First we went to Scarborough Walmart to get more Dunkin Donuts! Then we went to the mall for their 4 AM opening, Macy's, Children's Place, JcPenneys, Sears and well everywhere I guess. Lizzy woke up around 4:30am and was more then happy to entertain everyone else while we stood in line after line :) Mom was at Target while we braved the mall, She was there for 3 hours!!! (2 hours was in line to cash out) After she came to pick us up, we went to Staples and then ended our night at the Falmouth Walmart.

Lizzy and I went home and Lizzy played while I took 2 minute cat naps!!  Well It was so much fun..very CRAZY night...Every year we walk away saying NEVER AGAIN...and every year we go back!!

This is Lizzy playing and jumping in her roo so that Mommy can rest!!
THANK YOU LIZZY FOR BEING SUCH A GOOD GIRL!!

Later that night Jimmy, Lizzy and I went with some friends to the Christmas tree lighting in Portland! It was so cold but fun...Lizzy got to see Santa come in on a huge Firetruck and we sang carols and saw all the glittering lights!!

Lizzy all bundles up to see the lights!!!

I love Christmas and I can't wait to record all our Christmas fun on here!!

OH YA!! I forgot to mention that Lizzy turned 30 weeks old on Thanksgiving!!!!

28 weeks!

So today Jim and I had to lower Lizzy's crib again...she figured out that if she grabbed onto the bumper she could pull herself up...obviously it became a safety issue so now she is lowered practically to the floor!

Sleeping soundly :)

For the past few days we have been using disposable diapers because for some reason our Cloth diapers developed a build up...so I ordered Charlie's Soap which I was guaranteed to work on anything! We shall see....

Today Lizzy and I were blessed to have Jimmy home with us all day!! We didn't do much of anything but it was wonderful to spend time with him!! Our next day off together is Thanksgiving and then Christmas...then we won't have another day until May!! I can't wait until Jim is able to finish school and we will all be able to spend more time together!!!

She takes her job very seriously!
Lizzy Kisses!!

Jimmy and I call her the leech!

She opens her mouth wide and latches on sucking on our cheeks and then grabs us in a huge hug at the same time....If you are ever a "Victim" of a Lizzy Kiss, you will understand why we call our adorable daughter "The Leech"!!

Update on Lizzy's shots

So Lizzy developed a fever around 5 O'clock last night. It spiked up to 102 degrees (with Tylenol!) over night with diarrhea and belly trouble...she slept in our room so we could keep an eye on her...and she woke every 30 minutes or so!!

The doctor on call assured me that this happens sometimes when babies get the flu shot :(
and we should bring her to the ER if her temp spiked over 103...IT WAS A LONG NIGHT!!!

At 6:30 this morning Lizzy woke up with no fever and in a wonderful mood!!!

Halloween and more adventures!!

So it has been a week since my last post.....sorry....been wicked busy!!!

Lizzy had a "relapse" of the bug on Friday evening and we had to go through the process all over again
:(
Thankfully she was doing MUCH better on Saturday afternoon :)  I really can't remember what we did on Saturday...maybe that was the day i cleaned and tested out Christmas lights!!! Oh wait...Saturday was Jimmy's Birthday!!! Sorry Hun!!! We were able to spend the day together as a family...something that we never get to do!! We ended the night with a progressive dinner with the church...the highlight of course was mums lasagna.  We Had such a great day!!

On Sunday we went to woman's Bible study, and then picked up Jimmy for church and then I had nursery.  Jim and I went home for lunch and then did laundry...Then of course we dressed up our little one for her FIRST HALLOWEEN!!!!

First we went to Jimmy's parents house so they could see her in her adorable Pooh Bear costume, Then we went to the mall where we met up with Auntie Megan, Annabelle, Uncle Shawn, Bri, Nancy, and Stacy! Jimmy pushed his way through the crowd to make sure his daughter got all the candy offered...(Remember, she doesn't have teeth to eat candy yet!)
The mall was SO crowded so we left pretty early and went back to Mimi and Papa's house...where Lizzy made her last Trick or treat of the night...Papa gave her lots!!!

We finally made it home and made dinner...Lizzy played with her candy and tried to eat it! It was a very fun day!

On Monday Lizzy and I spend the day with my Mom running errands and then off to the PCC for a photo contest!

On Tuesday I spent the whole day with Megan, Bells and Dory!! We had so much fun!! We finally got a picture of all three children :) Lizzy LOVES spending time with her cousins...they make her laugh!

Pictures below: Some of these pictures were taken by my phone so the quality isn't the best!

(Starting next week, I will be participating in Wordless Wednesday...only pictures on Wednesday)
