So we made it through our trip to Cape Cod and had a great scrapbooking weekend!!! Started having a pattern of contractions on saturday but they were 45- 1 hour apart and were only unconfertable. On Sunday the contractions where a solid 45 minutes apart but still didn't hurt....so we stayed on our vacation and I got a lot of scrappin done. Sunday we packed up and headed home...we got caught in traffic and were running so late we had to stop for dinner...took us 6 hours to come form Cape Cod.
My body swelled right up even though I got out and stretched a lot, the fun of pregnancy...by monday morning my contractions were coming stronger but definitly not faster. Stayed in bed most of the day on monday and rested, By Tuesday the contractions were getting more painful and coming every 35 minutes. Unfortanitly Labor isn't considered labor untill contractions are 20 minutes apart...So I waited!! The contractions felt like a burning sensation in my lower back and cramps in my lower front...not all that painful but enough to make me cringe a little.
I went to bed tuesday night and only woke up twice with back pain so either I didnt have many contractions or they just wernt strong enough to cause me to wake up...
This morning it seems that the contractions are fading (not what I wanted) and becoming less frequent...lol...oh well...even if we go full term...we only have 4 weeks left...but they could start again soon and we could have lizzy in our hands soon...so excited...I can't wait for her to come out...Thats it for now...Have midwife appointment later today and will let everyone know the update :)

35 weeks
so we are at the 35 weeks mark and just got back from our midwife...she says that the baby is fully engaged (meaning baby's head is in the pelvis and ready for birth) and that it should only be a couple weeks or so from now....woohoo!!!
Lizzy is measuring in as an average size baby...estimated that she will be born at 6-7 pounds..of course that's an estimate taken from feeling the baby and measuring my uterus..could be a little off ....or a lot...:)
Her heart beat sounds fantastic and I am checking out perfect as well...my blood pressure is normal..as are all my tests...looks like everything is a go...Big improvement from where we where 6 months ago...not a good time:(
Sleeping is a huge issue but nothing I can do about that...i wander my house at night cleaning moving things around...driving Jimmy nuts..haha...then I tend to sleep better in the morning hours...so maybe my body is just trying to get me ready for Lizzy's schedule...lol...
So big thing happened...I had my baby shower on Sunday..it was a complete surprise!!!
Was so awesome...got to see friends and family that I haven't seen in a while and got lots of things that I still needed for Lizzy...we now have just about everything...well we have everything...but there is of course still things that we want...just a few though..the nursery is complete and the bassinet is ready for her to sleep in for the first few weeks...my mum also got me a nursing stool...so fantastic...
Jimmy's Mimi (his grandma) made Elizabeth a pooh bear blanket and made us a beautiful diaper bag and a pooh bear wall hanging!! Kathy, Shawn's Mum, made us a pooh bear quilt with pieces of my wedding dress in it...so amazing!!
We of course got some wicked cute clothes, including her first church dress from her auntie Megan. My aunt Annette made Lizzy her own sweater and booties and her first towel...homemade towel...so wonderful...we got so many other wonderful things as well that I just can't remember them all at the moment, but I am truly thankful to everyone who came to the party and who brought things for little Lizzy...we really appreciate it!!

34 weeks
So holy crap...only 6 weeks to go...JImmy and I are getting so excited!!! only have a week before we leave for the Cape and I am very very excited to get some scrap booking done! I only hope that I will not go into labor until we return....lol...The nursery is pretty much done...i'm sure that i will always find something to fiddle with but it has all the important things in it...
I have realized that my daughter has more clothes then she will ever possibly wear...lol...we received hammy downs from my sister and that filled up her closet...lol..We may be able to never do laundry for her...can't wait for the baby shower in a few weeks...it will be so exciting to see what the creative people in my family came up with...they never cease to surprise me with their creativeness and thoughtfulness!!!
Lizzy is moving around a lot now and getting very big...I watch her roll around in there and wonder where she finds room to move...its amazing...everything she does amazes me...people are probably getting tired of hearing it all the time...but I can't help it...I feel the need to tell everyone everything that she does..lol...watch out friends and family...after she is born we will be talking non-stop about everything she does..lol

Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
Well that's what the average baby is at...my midwife says she would guess Lizzy at around 5 pounds and 18 inches...it is guessed that if we go to the full 40 weeks that she will be a healthy 8-8 1/2 pound baby...of course that's only educated guesses...she could end up being anything from 6-9 pounds...we shall see...
Jimmy and I had childbirth classes on Saturday and it was FANTASTIC...loved the instructor...loved the class and loved the hospital food...weird right..but really it was good....we learned all kinds of information and Jimmy learned how to do therapeutic massage and how to help me during labor...I think he learned a lot and isn't as nervous anymore...They went over medication and I am even more firm that I don't want any unless medically necessary...I was very big on the tub birth but now that I have learned so many other labor and birthing positions I think it will be nice to have my options open...
The other options is shower...birthing ball in shower or out...sitting on floor...tub..any position...rocking chair...bed...walking halls...couch...so many different ways to make myself comfortable...I am so thrilled that i have so many options...Medically I do not have to be hooked up to anything..my midwife will occasionally check me and the baby but I don't need to be on monitors the whole time...and no IV unless there is a problem...Jimmy and I have been talking about this practically since we found out we were pregnant and we both are in the belief that my body knows what to do and I just need to let it do its job...I know there will be pain..more then I can possibly understand at this moment..but im prepared to deal with it with Jimmy as my support...and I think he will do an awesome job at it too. I have been practicing yoga for most of my pregnancy and think that with the knowledge of different positions and breathing, and the things we learned in birthing class...that I will be able to get through it....hopefully...lol...We are of course prepared to take any medical intervention if it looks like Lizzy is in any trouble....
We have decided to breast feed exclusively for at least the first 6 months...I believe that it is a benefit that shouldn't be wasted if I can do it..well I think that might be it for now...only 6 ish weeks to go...woohoo
Oh ya and our bags are packed for the hospital...woohoo...we are all ready to go...now just gotta make it through the cape and then go into labor...can't wait to meet Elizabeth...

33 weeks
This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal.
(Baby center)
I forgot that I had an appt today....space brain I guess...lol...so getting ready for appt and will update later on how it went...hoping to get full clearance to go to cape at end of month!!!
so just got back from my appt. and everything looks great...baby is between 4 1/2 and 5 pounds and around 17 inches long...my blood pressure is still fantastic and the heartbeat sounds great!!!
My trip to the cape has been cleared...there is no reason to believe I will go into labor while down there....so excited...
The nursery is done and I will have pics up soon...well updated pics anyway...
Jimmy and I set up the crib when he had time...took us three days to complete it but it got done....it looks wonderful and matches the changing table perfectly...
Jimmy put up the winnie-the-pooh border and I put up the butterflys....all together the nursery looks fantastic...we have everything ready for Elizabeth ...just have to wait for her to come see it...
It doesnt feel like Lizzy is getting any bigger but through my maternity pics I realize I am much bigger then I thought...lol...Midwife says that Lizzy is growing perfectly and that she is healthy....sounds wonderful to me...
Downside that I found out today was that if she is over 8 pounds or so..they won't be able to deliver her in tub...I can labor in tub but because Lizzy may need a little help from midwife coming out...I won't be able to do it in tub...I am learning everyday to try to be flexible and know that Lizzy will be born healthy and happy no matter where I decide to push her out...
Right now she is more active all the time and has the hiccups frequently...its quite amusing...Jimmy is always amazed when he can feel her move...i must say it's pretty awesome...I am enjoying being pregnant much more then I had before...very glad it will be ending soon though...
can't wait to meet Lizzy!!!

32 weeks
We have officially hit the 8 month mark today...so very excited...We had a breast feeding class last night and it freaked me out when the instructor said shed see us next month...lol...
The class was actually very informative...and I am even more determined to nurse then I was before...The benefits are so amazing!!i think jimmy learned a lot as well so he understands it better too...we have several more classes and I am very excited about them all...Jimmy has his Daddy class on Saturday...I think he will like getting together with other dads...
WE are mostly moved in...just a few more things to do before i can relax..lol...babies room looks great..cant wait to see finished project!! Just waiting for her crib and some other small items..then a few more decorating touches and I WILL BE ALL DONE!....for now anyway....although I am under strict instructions to stay away from any store that I may be tempted to buy anything for Lizzy...apparently I am suppose to wait for my baby shower...wups!!
Elizabeth is now about 4 pounds and gaining very quickly as she gets ready for birth...the midwife says that she is head down and in position...so exciting...she gets the hiccups several times a day and tries to stretch...which at this point is funny looking...cause I can watch her foot come right out of my belly...This is why she is my alien child. The other night...i was laying in bed trying to get comfortable when Lizzy decided to settle down and let me sleep...she curled right up on my right side with her back to my belly...i spend the next several minutes running my finger up and down her spine...jimmy thought it was so cool...didn't take too long though that she got irritated and moved so we couldn't touch her...lol..not even born yet and already has an attitude...;)
On other news I have found out that I have severe carpal tunnel and tendinitis in my arm...for now I have to wear a brace most of the time and ice it down...after the baby is born they will do surgery to repair the nerve damage...it hurts like crazy..but i figure that when i go into labor...ill forget all about the pain in my arm....:)
